About
Bronwyn LeBlanc-Kinne

Teaching piano lessons for me encompasses more than just teaching a student how to play the instrument.

With a patient and nurturing teaching style, I strive to develop a personal relationship with all of my students to understand them and learn their strengths and weaknesses. This allows me to tailor the curriculum to give them the best opportunity for success. I seek to foster their appreciation and personal connection to music by encouraging curiosity and exploration while looking at concepts with different perspectives. In lessons, I assist in establishing their own voice through creativity in improvisation, composition and other music projects, and figuring out how to express themselves through the music that they play.

I have tutored students in AP Music Theory, orchestration and composition, coached students for auditions into college, prepared students for competitions and other music events, conducted keyboard ensembles, arranged music for students as well as teaching students how to arrange music themselves. I have also familiarized students starting to learn other instruments like voice, clarinet, flute, guitar, percussion, recorder, etc.

My students have told me over the years that my approach has enriched their appreciation of music and impacted other aspects of their lives. They learned how to recognize the concepts taught in lessons in the music that they hear in their lives, from concerts to movies or video game scores. By helping them work through the challenges of the curriculum, they improved their work habits and organizational skills. Their duet and ensemble experiences helped develop cooperation and collaborative skills that provide a foundation in other ensembles, including future work environments.

When I accept students into my studio, When I seek accept students into my studio, I seek to work with the natural talents and the potential they each have to inspire them to form a relationship with music that they can have for the rest of their lives.
